The Shark Pit BJJ closure due to COVID-19 is extended until at least 10 June, 2020 in accordance with Executive Order Fifty-Three and Order of Public Health Emergency One, issued by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia on 30 March, 2020.

We greatly appreciate your continued support in this difficult time!

If you are a member of Shark Pit BJJ then please make sure you are subscribed to our "Shark Pit Jiu Jitsu Conglomerate" Group on Facebook for access to solo training tips, exclusive member content, and continued social interaction with your Shark Pit Family!

We will get through this together even if we can't train that way right now!

Previous Updates:

Effective 23 March, 2020: The Shark Pit BJJ closure due to COVID-19 is extended until at least 24 April, 2020 in accordance with Executive Order Fifty-Three issued today by the Commonwealth of Virginia Office of the Governor.

Effective 15 March, 2020: All classes at Shark Pit Jiu-Jitsu are cancelled for the next two weeks in an attempt to limit exposure to Covid-19 in our community.

We want to thank all of our members for bearing with us during this confusing and difficult time. As of right now, we plan on staying closed until the beginning of April. That is subject to change depending on how the COVID-19 situation evolves over the next two weeks.

We want our members to know that no individual at Shark Pit Jiu Jitsu nor at Winchester Boxing has tested positive for Coronavirus and extra steps are being taken to ensure our facilities remain clean. We have decided to close purely as a precautionary measure to prevent any possible spread of COVID-19 throughout our community, especially given the extremely close physical contact that occurs within jiu jitsu.

We do plan on continuing to share content on our social media pages, including memes, solo movement drills that can be done at home, and techniques that could be drilled with a partner or grappling dummy. Additionally, we will be filming and releasing technique videos from our coaches exclusively for our members. To access that content, you will need to be in our Shark Pit Jiu Jitsu Conglomerate group on Facebook. If you are a current member and are not a part of that group, please message our page and we will make sure you are added.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, or website as we continue to provide updates as to when we will be reopening.

We are incredibly thankful for all of our members and coaches. We understand that jiu jitsu isn't just a sport for most of us. It's an outlet. It provides a kind of therapy that little else can compare to. We hope to be back on the mats and providing that service again soon.
