  • Ages 14 and up train in our adult classes — see the full schedule.
  • Kids are welcome at Open Mat (Sunday 11:00 AM–1:00 PM and Friday 7:15–8:45 PM) as long as a parent is there to supervise.
  • Times are Eastern and can change; the live schedule is always current.

Shark Pups • Ages 3–7

Our Shark Pups class is designed for younger kids who are brand-new to martial arts. We keep things fast-moving, positive, and age-appropriate while teaching real Jiu-Jitsu basics.

Listening & focus Balance & coordination Stranger awareness Respect & teamwork
  • Short, structured rounds that match 3–7 year old attention spans.
  • Games that teach safe falling, basic takedowns, and positional control.
  • Clear rules and mat etiquette so kids learn when it is time to focus.
  • Coaches experienced with young kids and first-time students.
How often can my child train?
We run several kids classes each week for this age group so families can find a rhythm that works — including options on school nights.

For exact days and times, see the class table above or our live schedule.

Parents: What to Expect

We want your child’s first experience on the mats to be a win — for them and for you.

Does my child need prior experience?

No. Most of our kids start with zero experience. We pair newer kids with patient partners and scale drills to their level.

How are kids grouped during class?

Kids are grouped by age, size, and experience so everyone can train safely and productively. Coaches adjust pairings as students grow and progress.

Not sure which class is the best fit? Start the free trial and we’ll help place your child in the right group.

Why Jiu-Jitsu for Kids?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives kids a way to handle bullying and conflict without relying on size or striking. They learn how to stay calm, create space, escape bad positions, and control — not injure — an opponent.

  • Builds real-world self-defense skills in a controlled environment.
  • Improves confidence, problem-solving, and resilience.
  • Teaches kids how to win with humility and lose with grace.
  • Gives them a positive peer group and healthy outlet for energy.
